That way your Lone Wolf buff is ramping back up as the fight starts and you all still benefit from bloodlust. More skilled hunters suggest to summon your pet pre-boss aggro, start casting dismiss, and then right near the end of the dismiss cast hit bloodlust. It’s important to note that it takes time for your Lone Wolf buff to ramp back up to full effectiveness when you dismiss. I only summon my pet right before we need it so I can keep my Lone Wolf buff as long as possible, and dismiss my pet after the pull or boss is over. It could be a large early pull or just on bosses as cooldown allows. If I’m the sole bloodlust person in the group, I keep my pet dismissed and ask the key holder where they want lusts. I ask them first if they can be on bloodlust duty since taking out your pet as MM removes your Lone Wolf buff (+10% damage increase). As an MM hunter when I join a party I always check to see if we have a BM hunter, Shaman, or Mage in the group. The ferocity family of pets all have bloodlust and it can be the very reason you’re invited to a group, to provide that buff for certain pulls. It’s super important to keep a ferocity pet on you at all times if you’re doing dungeons.
